Located on the edge of Lake Wakatipu between Queenstown and Glenorchy, the Bob’s Cove house draws on the vernacular 'boat shed'.

The house touches lightly with a series of 'boat houses', perched in and above the landscape. Each boat house maintains an independent relationship to the landscape, with the materials and forms creating an overall cohesiveness.

The central 'boat shed' acts as a threshold between the mountain range to the north of the site, Lake Wakatipu and Bob’s Cove. It allows its occupants to open its gates and engage with the dramatic Otago landscape at either end.
